The Left Handed Ones and Nigerian Culture

Don’t use your left hand to describe your fathers house,
Don’t collect something with your left hand,
Don’t give something with your left hand,
Don’t touch someone’s goods with your left hand,
Don’t eat with your left hand.
Wear your wristwatch on the left.

Don’t don’t dont

They never appreciate that hand,  until they see it writing or drawing. I wonder sometimes why we’ve not outgrown the mentality of any left is bad.
In the movies, after all the sacrifices, the taboo is don’t take the left turn.
The roads supports the right handed peeps. With the way things are going,  I just might be parking in the handicapped spot. That’s what we are in Nigeria.

What keeps me going is the fact that when God created it all,  he saw that it was all very good. He created the left part of the body! I am tired of the left hand stigma. Let’s appreciate than criticize a newbie left-handed fellow.

We are special and unique.

We are rare.

We rule.

Stick up your left fist!

Haha I’m right handed though but I’ve always wondered why so much disdain is accorded to the left hand. J mean so what if I want to hand something over with my left hand? Surely both hands are equal. Culture can be funny!
